DDR – proxy edition
“Do you have any copies of Allison, Ashen Snail Lady?”
I look up from my phone and across the counter. Tall, hair up, dressed sharp – this lady meant business, but she was out of luck.
“Last copy just sold,” I mutter back. It’s the soul of the business, rush to get the latest cards and stay on top of the meta.
“Darn,” she says, as if this establishment ain’t 21+, “guess I’ll have to check back again some other time. I know that card would land me big in some tourneys, but I can’t play with a proxy.”
Of course not, I think, that would completely ruin the monetarily exploitative nature of game, but I keep my composure.
“Can I get your name? I’ll hold the next copy for you.”
They take out a pen and paper. “The name’s Andrea.”
