Cool HRT fact: Estradiol has two OH (alcohol) groups, which is what the “diol” suffix means (di=two, ol=alcohol).
Testosterone has a ketone group (carbon double bonded to an oxygen) which is why it has the suffix “one”, similar to progesterone, estrone, acetone and even spironolactone, which likewise have at least one ketone group.
